Friends

"I see why you don't have many friends..." first let me say that is the WRONG way to start a sentence, second I missed the memo that it was the goal to have lots of friends.

That statement illustrates for me that people don't really know the definition of the word "friend." Google defines friend as a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations. The part that we need to emphasize is "...one has a bond..." If that definition didn't hit the spot for you Merriam-Webster states a friend is one attached to another by affection or esteem.

A friend is not just someone you know, aka you are aware of or are familiar with, to be honest we all know lots of people. Think about it, you know your co-workers, you know your neighbors you know some people at your gym, you even know some of your fellow church members, see you "know" lots of people.

We should all strive to make true friends of our clients and customers, that's how you create customers for life. To be honest your true friends are there for life and in order for your business to continue to grow you have to keep your initial customers for life while gaining new ones too.

Grow your bonds with your customers by really listening to their feedback and opinions, take an interest in their lives, and take some time to spend some time with them. Those are all the ways you grow your true friendships and those are also all the ways you will grow your business.

Remember the goal is not quantity it's QUALITY!
